These are fun to put in our unstuffed plush animals.
These have a great sound and are easy to replace in many vintage cloth body dolls.
I usually do this by removing the dolls head. Their is ususally a wire insert attaching the head to the body. Clip the wire and remove the head.
Insert the squeaker down into the chest or back. Make sure the the squeaker has some breathing room and the top part does not get clogged . Check to see if it is working properly.
This will also give you a chace to see if the stuffing is getting moldy or smelly . If it is this is a great time to replace it. You can find new stuffing at any craft store or discount store. You can also replace any stuffing in the head (trust me the dolls will thanks you).
When you are ready to put the head back on you will need some jewelry wire (also found at craft stores, Walmart, etc). I loop one end over so that there is a smooth edge that slides through easily.
Insert into the cloth neck pocket and push all the way through. Cut to length leaving enough to twist the ends together and tighten the head securely.
May sound a little overwhelming but is really a simple project !! This way you do not have to open any seams or do any sewing but that is always another option :o)
